Analytics weapons detection and threat intelligence platform ZeroEyes, based in Philadelphia, announced it will invest $10 million into AI/ML research and development.
The company said the investment will include hiring more than 100 veterans in Southeastern Pennsylvania over the next two years to fill the roles of Technical Program managers, MLOps Engineers and AI Solutions Specialists. The company announced its initiatives and investment during the 2026 Pennsylvania Defense and Innovation Summit at Army War College In Carlisle, Pa.
“This investment marks a critical milestone in our evolution into a unified threat intelligence platform that provides organizations with a single, trusted ecosystem for threat response,” Mike Lahiff, CEO and co-founder of ZeroEyes, said. “We are excited to accelerate our technology roadmap while deepening our commitment to the veteran community within our home of Southeastern Pennsylvania.”
The investment will fund expansion to the business including a state-of-the-art, 3,000 square foot experimental AI technology lab; the Conshohocken-based ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), an in-house operations hub staffed primarily by military and law enforcement veterans, including special forces personnel; and small drone technology capabilities include 3D environment mapping, threat detection, and active shooter disorientation.
The company said it has expanded its platform beyond firearm detection to deliver a more intelligent approach to safety. New analytics capabilities include knife detection and real-time geolocation, as well as new security offerings, officials said. The new capabilities mark a step toward unifying acute threat detection with everyday safety operations.
ZeroEyes said its goal is to use the technologies to become a single, trusted platform to secure, detect and respond to a wide range of critical security events, and that its investments show the company’s commitments to further developing a platform that integrates preparedness, operational awareness and investigative insights.
