Pennsylvania secured a $1.6 million investment from health technology company Philips to expand its ultrasound manufacturing operations in Mifflin County.
The expansion will create 101 new jobs over the next three years, Gov. Josh Shapiro said in a press conference, while retaining the 518 existing full-time positions. Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger said the state will invest $330,000 in the project.

As part of the agreement with the DCED, Philips will add another production line to its Reedsville facility to increase its ultrasound transducer manufacturing capacity. The project represents the company’s fifth expansion at the site in the past 10 years. Philips purchased the site in 1998, and expanded in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2025 as well.
