The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry recently announced an upcoming Town Hall that will focus on success and growth opportunities for small and minority-owned businesses in Pennsylvania.

The event, titled “Risk and Reward: Minority-Owned Businesses and the Growth Paradox,” will take place on Oct. 17 in Harrisburg. AmeriHealth Caritas, a Philadelphia-based healthcare company, is sponsoring the event.

“Business leaders all recognize that the small business owners who make up the majority of employers here in Pennsylvania are the engines of our state’s economy,” PA Chamber President and CEO Gene Barr said. “As we consider the benefits that these businesses bring to the table, our shared objective must be to find ways to continue fostering their growth. To that end, we are proud to partner with AmeriHealth Caritas, a leader in partnering with small and diverse businesses. They can attest that relationships strengthen ties to local areas, helping the company achieve its mission to help people get care, stay well and build healthy communities.”

Panel participants will include local and state elected officials, business leaders and agency experts. The event will highlight the benefits of working with small and minority-owned businesses, examine methods that businesses can use to take risks and accommodate larger demand and explore initiatives to promote the growth of businesses and the local economy.

“Small, diverse business owners share a lot of the same values that we do here at AmeriHealth Caritas, so it’s imperative that we continue actively encouraging, supporting and celebrating these businesses in our local communities,” AmeriHealth Caritas Executive Vice President of Health Markets Steve Bohner said. “Working in conjunction with state officials and local organizations, together we have advanced our work to propel small businesses forward and drive economic progression. We appreciate the opportunity to work with the PA Chamber and look forward to a productive dialogue with others that share this important goal.”
