Pittsburgh-based U. S. Steel plans to host a job fair on Oct. 14 to fill up to 100 open positions across its three Mon Valley facilities. The event will be held from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 1 South Linden Street in Duquesne.
“In our drive toward the future, we’re investing billions of dollars in modernization and technology,” Scott Buckiso, U. S. Steel executive vice president and chief manufacturing officer – North American flat-rolled segment, said. “But our success relies on having trusted people in manufacturing roles on the shop floor. They are the backbone of everything we do.”
The company encourages job seekers throughout the Mon Valley and Pittsburgh to register for the event and complete an application. Job seekers also must pass a digital assessment to be eligible for an interview.
Qualified candidates also will have the opportunity to learn more about the open positions and meet with hiring managers. Some candidates potentially may receive a same-day job offer.
“This is an invitation to not only help build the steel industry of tomorrow, but, more importantly, to build a personally rewarding livelihood at U. S. Steel,” Mark Jeffrey, Clairton Plant general manager, said. “I hope everyone interested in exploring employment with our growing company will make the most of this opportunity.”
