Philadelphia-based Aramark, a food and facilities management company, recently launched a proprietary, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tool designed to transform menu personalization and operational efficiency.

The tool, Culinary Co-Pilot (CCP), is a core component of Aramark’s enterprise-wide digital platform Hospitality IQ that uses AI to make smarter, faster decisions. CCP is embedded within Aramark systems to streamline and enhance decision-making for culinary operations. It integrates data from multiple sources including menu analytics, inventory systems, supplier databases, and consumer feedback. CCP also proactively addresses supply chain disruptions or cost prohibitive ingredients and recommends viable replacements.

CCP supports operators by simplifying the management of highly regulated menu requirements in Aramark’s Student Nutrition accounts. Options include allergen tracking and nutritional standards. Operators also can monitor industry compliance and make adjustments in real time.

“The tool harnesses the power of AI to enhance efficiency of menu planning and purchasing so our operators can focus on what matters most — serving great food and delivering even better experiences for our guests,” Baker Smith, Aramark chief information officer, said.

The tool was pilot tested within Aramark Collegiate Hospitality accounts. The accounts reported up to a 30 percent reduction in the time needed for menu planning. They also reported streamlined workflows and fewer clicks required to access critical data.
