Spring Grove-based Pixelle Specialty Solutions, a specialty papers manufacturer, recently appointed Julie Schertell as CEO.
Schertell has more than 30 years experience and a track record of leading complex organizations, developing talent, scaling businesses globally, and building a culture of accountability.
Schertell comes to Pixelle from Mativ Holdings, a company that was created from the merger of Schweitzer Mauduit International and Neenah. She led the merger and served as president and CEO. In that role, she sold non-strategic businesses, reduced non-operating costs by an additional 15 percent, repositioned the company’s portfolio, and drove growth and margin improvements. Prior to the merger, Schertell was Neenah president and CEO.
Earlier in her career, Schertell held positions of increasing responsibility at Georgia-Pacific Company including Sales Strategy vice president and Consumer Products Division vice president of customer solutions.
“Pixelle has a strong core business, with unique capabilities and a talented team,” Schertell said. “As we enter this new chapter, I am excited to lead the company forward by investing in our Spring Grove site and strengthening customer relationships through innovation, supply chain programs, and exceptional products, service, and quality.”
Schertell succeeds Ross Bushnell who is pursuing other opportunities. He will remain with the company through September.
