Discount Tire, the world’s largest tire retailer, recently opened its first Pennsylvania location in Pittsburgh.

“Pennsylvania has been a state we’ve wanted to be a part of for years,” Darwin Medearis, assistant vice president of Discount Tire’s Great Lakes region, said. “We are excited to bring our excellent service, knowledgeable employees, fair prices, and comprehensive selection to this great state to meet the needs of our new customers.”

Discount Tire will provide customers with free tire-pressure checks at the Pittsburgh location.

The company was founded in 1960 in Ann Arbor, Mich., and now is based in Scottsdale, Ariz. It has more than 1,000 locations in 36 states. The company opened stores in 11 new states since 2013 and surpassing 1,000 stores in 2018.

Discount Tire does business under the trade name Discount Tire in most of the United States. In parts of California, it does business as America’s Tire and, in markets outside the reach of retail stores, does business as Discount Tire Direct.

Discount Tire sells several tire brands, including BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Cooper, Falken, Goodyear, Michelin, and Pirelli. It also sells more than 50 Discount Tire-exclusive brands and lines such as Wrangler Ultraterrain AT.

Discount Tire also sells custom-wheel brands.
