Saint Vincent Hospital opened a new location last week for the Saint Vincent Chest Diseases physician practice, the hospital’s pulmonary rehab services, and the Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center of Northwestern Pennsylvania.

The renovated 17,000 square-foot, two-story facility was formerly used as Saint Vincent’s orthopaedic practice. The renovation cost $1.5 million and included expansion of the waiting areas and reception office, an updated gymnasium, a new nurse station on the first floor, and updated finishes along with other improvements.

“Saint Vincent is providing patients with a beautiful new, highly efficient location to receive the excellent services provided by the clinicians at our pulmonary rehab, sleep center, and Chest Diseases physician practice,” Dr. Chris Clark said. “The new location offers free parking, a central location close to hospital, and additional exam rooms to streamline patient care.”

The number of patient rooms was also increased from 10 in the previous locations to 16 in the new facility, allowing for more patients to be seen and treated. Additionally, the sleep center is larger, with room for expansion, which features an oxygen system set up for remote use and adjustment.

The clinicians within the facility will offer care for pulmonary diseases and sleep disorders, such as cardiopulmonary exercise testing, pulmonary function testing, and pulmonary rehabilitation services. The physician team also participates in various clinical research projects for diseases including asthma, COPD, bronchitis, and pneumonia.

“From a physician perspective, this new location – which is less than a block from the hospital — will provide faster, easier access to our patients who are hospitalized,” Dr. Jeffrey McGovern, a Saint Vincent pulmonologist, said. “The newly-designed space will help streamline patient care, and we think our patients will love the beautiful new environment.”
