Pittsburgh-based Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute recently appointed Misty Dawson as chief technology officer, effective March 16. She will be tasked with technical strategy to help manufacturers implement robotics and physical artificial intelligence and will drive business development regarding technical opportunities.
“I am thrilled to welcome Misty to the ARM Institute team,” Jorgen Pedersen, ARM Institute CEO, said. “Misty brings a wealth of expertise that will provide immense value not only to the ARM Institute, but also to our nearly 500 member organizations, our defense partners, and our mission to grow U.S. manufacturing through the use of robotics and AI. Her experience and leadership will further augment our already world-class technology team.”
Dawson has years of technology executive experience in the defense, robotics and aerospace industries. She comes to ARM from a consulting firm she owns where she advised small-business owners on growth strategies in the U.S. and global defense sectors. She also provided insight to investors in manufacturing businesses in the aerospace sectors.
Earlier in her career, Dawson was Sarcos Technology & Robotics Corp. vice president of strategy and product management, Collins Aerospace general manager and site leader, and Rockwell Collins senior director of products and optronics, among other roles.
Dawson replaces Chuck Brandt who retired.
