A Carnegie, Pa.-based company that manufactures and sells highly engineered, high-performance specialty metal products and customized equipment is experiencing massive activity this year.

Ampco-Pittsburgh Corp. reported Monday that its order activity thus far in 2026 increased 38 percent versus the same period last year.

“Customer order activity has increased across multiple markets in the first two months of the year,” said Ampco-Pittsburgh CEO Brett McBrayer. “This performance reinforces our confidence that Ampco-Pittsburgh is well-positioned to grow even stronger in the quarters ahead.”

Both of Ampco-Pittsburgh’s operating segments saw increased activity as the Forged and Cast Engineered Products segment’s order activity increased 18 percent year over year while the Air and Liquid Processing segment saw order activity increase 73 percent year over year.

“Demand for our Forged Engineered Products — our specialized non-rolled product line — has increased significantly in response to recent tariffs,” McBrayer said. “At the same time, demand for our traditional roll products is recovering from the temporary pause we saw in the second half of 2025 as the market adjusted to the new trade landscape.

Additionally, said McBrayer, the company’s Air and Liquid Processing segment is also seeing “exceptionally strong, sustained demand” from the nuclear, military, pharmaceutical, and data center sectors.

“The momentum we are seeing in early 2026 validates the strategic steps we took in late 2025,” added the chief executive. “By eliminating underperforming locations, we have fundamentally strengthened our operational foundation and are now focused on markets with the highest long-term growth potential.”
