Officials with West Chester-based A. Duie Pyle said the transportation and distribution solutions company would open a new LTL service center in Rochester, N.Y.
The facility is a significant step in the 101-year-old family-owned business’ ongoing efforts to bolster operations across the Northeast, officials said. The new facility on Emerson Street in Rochester will feature 24 service door and a strategic position near major interstates. Located near I-490 and I-90, the facility is also close to key commercial hubs, the company said. The location will provide the company with enhanced connectivity, improved freight flow and more efficient management or rising shipment volumes. It will also offer customers earlier delivery windows and later pick-up times, officials said.
“Rochester was a deliberate choice that supports our customer-first approach to expanding capacity and improving service throughout the Northeast,” John Luciani, COO of LTL Solutions at A. Duie Pyle, said. “As supply chains grow more complex and transit times become more critical, we remain committed to continuously building a smarter, more responsive network that supports long-term success for our customers.”
The Rochester location created 26 new jobs when it opened, including 17 drivers, 5 dockworkers and one fleet technician and three leaders. By the end of the year, the facility is projected to employ more than 50 people, officials said.
Pyle said it was the 36th LTL service center in its Northeast footprint, and will enable faster, more dependable deliveries throughout the Northeast, the company said, meeting its customer needs in a dynamic logistics landscape.
