The Pennsylvania HCBS Association (PA HCBS) and the Pennsylvania Homecare Association (PHA) have partnered to fulfill the role and responsibilities of PA HCBS executive director.

The partnership is the first step in the process of merging the two associations to deliver enhanced value to members and strengthen advocacy efforts. It also expands opportunities to address home- and community-based services (HCBS) in Pennsylvania.

“This partnership signals an exciting new chapter for the HCBS community in Pennsylvania,” Carl Berry, Pennsylvania HCBS Association president, said. “Together, PA HCBS and PHA are uniquely positioned to lead on advocacy, expand our collective reach, and deliver even greater value to our members and the individuals they serve.”

The associations feel that by integrating resources and expertise, the combined association will have an opportunity to offer a wider array of services and to address issues regarding HCBS access, funding and work force development.

The unified association will focus on four areas: advocacy, education, enhanced member benefits and innovative business solutions. The association will advocate for policies that benefit providers and the individuals and families they serve. Education will focus on professional development and training opportunities for HCBS providers. Enhanced member benefits will include greater access to resources, networking and tools that support member organizations. Expanded consulting and operational support will help address industry needs.
