Guardian Booth relocating headquarters to Pennsylvania from New York

Guardian Booth, a manufacturer of prefabricated structures, will relocate its headquarters to Waynesboro, Penn.

The move from Orangeburg, N.Y., to Franklin County will create new jobs, Gov. Tom Wolf said. Additionally, after the move, the company intends to expand its product offering by acquiring Homes by Keystone, a prefabricated home builder, and retain that company’s employees.

“The relocation of Guardian Booth’s headquarters is a tremendous win for Pennsylvania,” Wolf said. “This manufacturer will bring new jobs to Franklin County and retain employees when it purchases Homes by Keystone, which otherwise would have closed its doors. Between our prime northeast location and skilled workforce, the commonwealth has much to offer to manufacturing companies looking to set up shop and succeed in Pennsylvania.”

Guardian Booth said it will invest $4.5 million into the relocation project, creating 33 new jobs over the next three years. Acquiring Homes by Keystone, also in Waynesboro, the company will retain Keystone’s 20 employees.

The company received a funding proposal for a $165,000 Pennsylvania First grant and a $106,000 workforce development grant from the state’s Department of Community and Economic Development. The company was also encouraged to apply for the department’s Manufacturing Tax Credit (MTC) program.
