U.S. Steel named one of the year’s most ethical companies

Ethisphere, an organization defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, recently recognized United States Steel Corp. (U.S. Steel) as one of the 2022 World’s Most Ethical Companies.

Ethisphere’s assessment process includes examining a company’s culture of ethics, ethics and compliance programs, leadership and reputation, environmental and societal impact to support a strong value chain, and governance.

A total of 136 companies in 45 industries worldwide were recognized. U.S. Steel was the only integrated steel producer. The company also is one of three honorees in the “metals, minerals & mining” category.

“We are being honored for practices that speak to the strength of U.S. Steel today, and what will make us an even stronger company in the future,” Duane D. Holloway, U.S. Steel senior vice president, general counsel, and chief ethics and compliance officer, said. “Our foundational S.T.E.E.L. Principles, contributions to sustainable manufacturing practices, and community and social engagement are just some pieces of our customer-centric Best for All strategy- a strategy that is advancing a more secure, sustainable future for U. S. Steel and its stakeholders.”

U.S. Steel also recently received honorary recognitions, including Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion by the Disability Equality Index.
