Cencora Inc., the pharmaceutical distribution giant based in Conshohocken, Pa., recently elected Robert Sanchez to serve as an independent director on its board of directors, effective Oct. 1.
Sanchez is currently Executive Chair of Ryder System Inc. where he previously served as Chair and Chief Executive Officer until his retirement in March.
“Robert’s experience as a public-company CEO, including his deep understanding of logistics and supply chains, will complement the Board’s skill set as we support Cencora’s pharmaceutical-centric strategy,” Mark Durcan, Cencora board of directors chairman, said. “His appointment reflects the board’s ongoing commitment to leaders whose perspectives will further the company’s growth ambitions.”
Sanchez is also a member of the Texas Instruments board of directors and serves a trustee of the University of Miami. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami.
