Germany-based Dornier Seawings, a composite amphibious aircraft manufacturer, recently selected Exton-based Innovative Aerosystems, an advanced avionics solutions company, to supply its Dornier Seastar aircraft with the Liberty Data Acquisition Unit (DAU).

The dual-channel Liberty DAU will provide the Seastar platform with data processing and management capabilities. It works by acquiring, processing and validating data from multiple aircraft sensors and distributing essential information throughout the avionics architecture. It

supports key aircraft functions such as crew alerting, engine indication, system synoptics and flight data recording integration.

“This selection demonstrates the value of our investment in proprietary technology and the versatility of our Liberty avionics architecture,” Shahram Askarpour, Innovative Aerosystems CEO, said. “By leveraging our established utilities management system technology, we can deliver advanced, scalable solutions tailored to individual aircraft programs. We continue to pursue a robust pipeline of opportunities that expand our content on aircraft platforms, deepen our OEM relationships and drive long-term growth.”

The Liberty DAU program began in September 2026 and is expected to reach the technical standard order achievement in 2028. Dornier Seawings expects the delivery of approximately 300 aircraft over the program’s first 10 years.

Innovative Aerosystems serves airframe manufacturers and aftermarket providers for fixed-wing and rotorcraft applications.
