Kerry, an Irish company specializing in products with improved nutrition and functionality, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the opening of its Bethlehem coffee extraction facility.
The facility will use extraction and concentration technologies to create natural coffee taste and flavor profiles tailored to customers’ formulations. It helps the company expand its overall coffee extraction capabilities and meet the growing demand in the United States for premium coffee.
Analysis of more than 50 million shoppers revealed that consumers are moving to higher-quality coffee despite rising prices, according to dunnhumby’s 2026 coffee trends, and 48 percent of American adults drank specialty coffee in the past day, according to new data from the National Coffee Association.
“The opening of our Bethlehem facility is an important milestone for our coffee business in North America,” John Cahalane, Kerry North America president and CEO, said. “It brings additional capacity and advanced processing capabilities closer to customers on the East Coast, helping them respond quickly to changing consumer preferences across hot and cold coffee. Just as importantly, it gives us greater flexibility to develop high-quality coffee experiences while identifying opportunities to reduce supply chain complexity and environmental impact.”
Industry partners, community leaders, government representatives, and customers participated in guided facility tours and product tastings.
