Magnet Applications, a magnets, magnetic assemblies and custom magnetic solutions manufacturer and supplier, plans to expand its Pennsylvania operations from 21,000 square feet to 61,000 square feet. The company recently purchased a 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in DuBois adjacent to its existing operations.

The expansion will allow the company to support the growing demand for compression bonded magnets and domestic magnet manufacturing. The additional space will house manufacturing, warehouse, office and support space with room for future production equipment. The facility will be put to use immediately and allows the company to use its existing work force, equipment, and operations.

“Demand for the products we manufacture in DuBois continues to grow, and having this facility next to our existing operation gives us the room and flexibility to respond,” Robert Bunting Jr., Bunting Magnetics president and CEO, said. “More importantly, there is a growing national focus on rebuilding magnet manufacturing capacity in the United States. We believe Pennsylvania can be an important part of that effort, and we intend to continue investing here.”

Magnet Applications’ expansion is part of a strategy to increase domestic manufacturing capacity and support customers seeking more secure and reliable U.S.-based supply chains.
