Pittsburgh-based L.B. Foster Co., a technology solutions provider for the rail and infrastructure markets, recently expanded its European distribution capabilities by partnering with Expeditors International, a logistics provider.

The companies have collaborated for more than a decade. This partnership will create a distribution hub in Germany to streamline product delivery, improve supply chain resilience, and enhance customer experience. Germany was selected because of its central location, strong transport infrastructure, and L.B. Foster’s growing customer relationships in the Alpine region.

“As customer expectations continue to evolve, efficient, reliable, and resilient supply chains have never been more important,” Jason Bowlin, L.B. Foster, senior vice president, rail, said. “Strengthening our partnership with Expeditors enables us to better support our European customers by removing many of the logistical challenges that have emerged following the UK’s exit from the European Union.”

The hub supports L.B. Foster’s long-term European growth strategy and strengthens the support it can provide customers operating some of the continent’s most critical transportation infrastructure networks.

“This initiative will help customers keep critical railway, industrial and mining operations running smoothly while improving responsiveness across the region,” John Austin, L.B. Foster, head of segment – friction management, Europe, said.

The partnership combines L.B. Foster’s industry expertise with Expeditors International’s global logistics network, local market knowledge and supply chain capabilities.
