Carnegie-based Ampco-Pittsburgh Corp., a manufacturer of high-performance specialty metal products and customized equipment, recently announced that customer order activity for the first half of the year totals approximately $268 million. This represents a 32 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
“The increase reflects improving demand across several of our key end markets and continued execution by our teams,” Brett McBrayer, Ampco-Pittsburgh CEO, said. “Together with our healthy backlog, these trends emphasize our confidence in the direction of the business as we remain focused on operational execution and serving our customers.”
The company’s Forged and Cast Engineered Products segment had a 25 percent increase in customer order activity, reaching approximately $153 million. Order activity for roll products, especially in North America, grew while demand for specialty forged engineered products remained strong.
The company’s Air and Liquid Processing segment had a 42 percent increase in customer order activity, reaching approximately $116 million. Growth is attributed to an increased demand for pumps supporting U.S. Navy programs and commercial pumps supporting the power generation market.
Ampco-Pittsburgh operates manufacturing facilities in the United States, Sweden, and Slovenia, and has sales offices in North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
