North Carolina-based Curtiss-Wright Corporation announced it would spend $80 million to expand its operations at its facility in Cheswick, Pa.

The multi-year investment is part of the company’s Naval & Power segment, and the expansion will be funded through a combination of internal capital investments, state support and maritime industrial base funding from the U.S. Department of War.

The company’s Cheswick campus designs, manufactures and tests advanced solutions for naval defense and commercial nuclear markets. As part of the investment, the company will construct two new buildings to expand manufacturing and testing capacity, while also improving operational efficiencies, reducing lead times and supporting the company’s future growth. The expansion began in 2025 and is expected to create an estimated 150 new jobs over the course of the next three years.

“This expansion strengthens our ability to meet growing customer demand in our naval defense and commercial nuclear end markets, and reinforces our commitment to the workforce and the community to ensure that Curtiss-Wright remains a critical supplier to these industries for the next decade and beyond,” Lynn M. Bamford, chair and CEO of Curtiss-Wright Corporation, said. “Additionally, we’re pleased to see the administration’s continued strong funding for naval shipbuilding, including an acceleration in maritime industrial base funding.”

Coordinated by the Governor’s BusinessPA team, Curtiss-Wright received $1,210,000 in grant funding from the state’s Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) through its PA Sites Program.

“We are grateful for Governor Shapiro and the Commonwealth’s continued partnership, including their support through the PA SITES program,” David Micha, Sr. VP of Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Systems, said.
