Bonduelle Americas designates Philadelphia as US growth hub

Fresh, convenient food company Bonduelle Americas said it has established Philadelphia as its digital forward Growth Hub.

The designation will allow the company to accelerate growth and transform how the company competes on the food landscape, officials said. Bonduelle Americas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Groupe Bonduelle, a global company with more than 170 years of food industry experience. Alongside Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, and Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, the company said the decision is a deliberate choice to locate in one of America’s strongest food and retail corridors.

“We want to win within the U.S. with innovative, chef-crafted healthy choices, meal solutions and fresh services,” Bobby Chacko, CEO of Bonduelle Americas, said. “That means competing across the store and digital shelf, moving faster, and surrounding ourselves with the right talent and partners to do it. Philadelphia brings the kind of energy, grit, and food heritage that fuels how we build — and how we win.”

In the United States, Bonduelle Americas is evolving beyond its fresh-cut roots, officials said, to a modern plant-rich food portfolio across the store – from produce to the center aisle – designed for how people currently eat. The Growth Hub anchors that strategy, officials said.

Phase 1 of operations in Philadelphia is now active, and a permanent Phase 2 location is expected to open in 2028 as the company continues to scale its presence in the region. The company expects to create more than 100 jobs in the Philadelphia area over time.

“Pennsylvania is winning deals over other states because we’re focused on what matters — building a strong workforce, cutting unnecessary red tape, and making strategic investments that attract businesses and help our existing companies grow here,” Shapiro said. “We’re going to keep pushing aggressively to secure more projects, create quality jobs, and drive lasting economic growth across our Commonwealth.”

The Growth Hub in Philadelphia joins the company’s existing U.S. footprint with operations in California, New Jersey and Georgia.
