Cranberry Township-based Westinghouse Electric Co., a nuclear technologies company, recently appointed Gaby Poirier to serve as president of its Global Operating Plants business unit.

Poirier has extensive operational, manufacturing and project execution experience regarding global technical businesses. He worked at Rio Tinto, a global metals and mining company, for two decades and held several leadership roles. Most recently, he was Alcoa Canada president and oversaw the aluminum producer’s North American operations.
As president of Global Operating Plants, Poirier will lead the strategic deployment of Westinghouse’s capital investment projects that support the company’s growth portfolio and will be accountable for the delivery of core products and services to the global fleet of operating nuclear plants. Core products and services include engineered solutions and nuclear fuel.
