U.S. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) recently visited 6K Additive’s Burgettstown facility to discuss the importance of establishing a robust, domestic supply chain for refractory metal powders essential to U.S. national security and clean energy independence.

Reschenthaler toured the facility and observed 6K Additive’s proprietary process. The process can convert solid scrap, turnings, and end-of-life components into premium metal powders used in additive manufacturing. The method has a lower environmental impact than traditional mining and refining methods. 6K Additive’s approach helps secure the supply chain because it is a fully domestic process.
6K Additive is a manufacturer and supplier of metal powders used in additive manufacturing and alloy additions for the aluminum melt industry. The company recently expanded its Burgettstown plant to meet the additive manufacturing sector’s growing demand for specialized metal powders.
