Hatfield, Pa.-based Nordic Cold Chain Solutions, a cold chain packaging and thermal management solutions company, recently launched an initiative designed to help specialty pharmacies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and e-commerce companies ship temperature-sensitive deliveries.

The GLP-1 & Small-Format Packaging Innovation Lab will allow customers to develop cold-chain packaging built for parcel shipping and small-format distribution channels, and will shorten the path from concept to scalable production and improve consistency. The lab will focus
on mailers and compact shippers, and help standardize packouts.

“As the GLP-1 landscape continues to evolve at unprecedented speed, our customers need partners who can move just as fast,” Keith Baechle, Nordic Cold Chain Solutions chief commercial officer, said. “This lab is an extension of our customer-first mindset—bringing our engineering expertise, industry knowledge, and hands-on experience together to help customers adapt quickly and scale confidently.”

The lab was built to keep pace with the rapidly evolving GLP-1 market and to scale as demand rises.

GLP-1 agonists are drugs that are used to help lower blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes and also help people lose weight. Most GLP-1s are injectable, but some are available in pill for.

Nordic Cold Chain Solutions serves the pharmaceutical, life sciences, specialty pharmacy, industrial, and e-commerce industries.
