HWI, a refractory products and services supplier based in Pittsburgh, recently opened a lightweight monolithics production facility in Fulton, Miss.
Monolithic refractories are used in high-temperature industries for boilers, crackers, lining heaters, reformers, and furnaces in aluminum, petrochemical, refinery and power generation facilities.
HWI’s facility will increases its lightweight monolithics production capacity, increase inventory, shorten lead times, and give the company flexibility to pursue new business opportunities and larger-scale projects. The facility has direct access to high-quality local clay reserves and includes fully robotic automation for packaging and material handling, upgraded packaging options and a purpose-built furnace system for the company’s GREENLITE products.
HWI’s GREENLITE lightweight monolithics provide superior insulation with optimized strength-to-density ratio. This minimizes heat loss, reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, extends campaign life, and enables longer service intervals.
