Wisconsin-based Schreiber Foods, a dairy products manufacturer, plans to invest $132.9 million to expand its Cumberland County facility in Shippensburg. The project is expected to create 47 jobs over the next three years and retain 516 positions.

The company will add new production lines to increase its capacity for yogurt processing by an additional 109,000 pounds of milk daily.

“Schreiber has been a proud member of the Shippensburg community for more than
two decades,” Trevor Farrell, Schreiber Foods president, said. “This expansion reinforces our long-term commitment to this area, and we look forward to many more years of growth and partnership.”

In addition to yogurt, the company produces beverages, cream cheese, natural cheese, and process cheese, and has the capacity to source milk from 165 farms in 11 Southcentral and Southeastern Pennsylvania counties during a typical month. Schreiber employs more than 10,500 people worldwide and has annual sales of more than $7 billion.

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) submitted a funding proposal for a $1 million Pennsylvania First Program grant.

“This investment from Schreiber Foods will help boost our economic competitiveness, create good-paying jobs, and support the dairy industry across the commonwealth,” DCED Secretary Rick Siger said.
