Belgium-based Puratos, an international company offering food ingredients and solutions in the bakery, sweet goods and chocolate categories, recently purchased Trevose-based Vör Foods, a nut and seed butters manufacturer.

Nut‑based ingredients are among the fastest‑growing categories in bakery, and the purchase will allow Puratos to strengthen its U.S. manufacturing footprint and respond more quickly to emerging consumer trends with locally produced ingredients.

Vör’s facility is located 35 minutes from Puratos’ U.S. headquarters in Pennsauken, N.J. Puratos plans to invest in Vör’s equipment and capacity.

“The Vör team brings craftsmanship, agility, and impressive speed,” Andy Brimacombe, Puratos North America president, said. “They’ve grown remarkably fast by staying close to customers and delivering on-trend nut solutions. Their expertise and U.S nut facility make them a strong strategic fit for Puratos, and enhance our ability to support customers with reliable, high-quality ingredients. We’re excited to welcome them to the team as we continue driving sweet goods innovation together.”

Puratos serves primarily large industrial bakeries and retailers in the United States, foodservice chains, distributors and artisan customers. Its existing range of nut fillings, including the recently launched Carat Nuxel Hazelnut, will be complemented by Vör Foods’ portfolio of almond, cashew, hazelnut, pistachio, and blended nut butters and fillings.
