New Jersey-based Farm Plast, a sustainable injection molded container manufacturer, plans to invest $8 million to its first Pennsylvania manufacturing facility in Muncy.

The company has purchased a vacant manufacturing facility and will renovate it into a 200,000-square-foot facility. The project will create 69 jobs over the next three years and will allow the company to increase production while adding several new product lines.

The company manufactures milk crates, bread trays and moving dollies using injection molding. The products are sold to farms and grocers to provide protection and safe transportation of milk, bread, glass bottles and eggs.

“Farm Plast is moving full steam ahead with its new manufacturing facility in Muncy, producing high-quality, American-made products and creating jobs in the great state of Pennsylvania,” Eric Lomak, Farm Plast general manager, said. “We plan to breathe new life into the empty warehouse that has long been forgotten and we are incredibly grateful for all the support we received from DCED and Gov. (Josh) Shapiro.”

The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) submitted a funding proposal for a $500,000 Pennsylvania First grant and a $3.5 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan.

Annually, Farm Plast recycles approximately 12 million pounds of plastic.
