Ontario-based Medicus Pharma Ltd., a biotech/life sciences company, recently promoted President Carolyn Bonner to chief financial officer, effective immediately. She will maintain both roles.

In her combined role, Bonner will oversee the company’s financial reporting and controls, capital markets strategy, budgeting and forecasting, treasury operations, and will lead strategic planning and cross-functional coordination across clinical and corporate development initiatives.

“Carolyn has been providing strong financial leadership since stepping in as acting CFO in September,” Dr. Raza Bokhari, Medicus executive chairman & CEO, said. “Her appointment as CFO, in addition to president, enhances continuity, ensures stability and brings further alignment in our corporate objectives. These combined responsibilities also bring operational and financial integration under a single leader as Medicus advances its clinical development programs and expands its clinical pipeline.”

Bonner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and has nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare and life sciences sector. She began her career in 2006 at Inform Diagnostics and held business development and corporate development there as well as at Rosetta Genomics. Bonner served as PCL president and chief executive officer before joining Medicus.

Bonner became acting chief financial officer on Sept. 12.
