Texas-based Evolution Well Services, an electric hydraulic fracturing services provider, recently extended its partnership with Canonsburg-based CNX Resources, a natural gas development, production, midstream, and technology company centered in Appalachia, for an additional 32 months.
“We are proud of our legacy of innovation and ongoing efforts to advance the state-of-the-art when it comes to community collaboration and sustainable operations,” Nav Behl, CNX chief operating officer, said. “Being the first mover on electric frac in the region and our long-standing partnership with Evolution helped push the envelope on the efficiency frontier and contributed to CNX being the lowest cost operator in the Appalachian Basin. With the safety, environmental, and efficiency benefits of electric frac clearly demonstrated, we are pleased to enter another long-term contract as we work together to continue to prioritize Appalachia first.”
The companies partnered in 2019 to advance safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations in the Appalachia Basin. When the partnership ends, the companies will have had one of the longest continuous partnerships in the U.S. Shale industry.
The partnership has achieved several milestones including surpassing 500 pumping hours per month in high-pressure Deep Utica development.
CNX Resources had 8.54 trillion cubic feet equivalent of proved natural gas reserves as of Dec. 31.
