UGI Corp., which distributes and markets energy products and services in the United States and Europe, reported Friday that the company has made measurable progress on its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts.
“Our 2024 results demonstrate the strength of our integrated approach to business excellence and sustainability,” said UGI Corp. President and CEO Bob Flexon. “We’re proving that disciplined goal-setting and consistent execution create sustainable long-term stakeholder value across all dimensions of our business.”
UGI said it achieved significant milestones in 2024, including achieving its target of a 50-percent reduction in accountable vehicle incidents between 2017 and 2025, one year ahead of schedule, according to the company’s 2024 ESG report, “Delivering Positive Energy Every Day.”
Serving more than 2.5 million customers across 17 countries, UGI also reported a 6-percent reduction in Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions, keeping the company on track with its 55-percent reduction commitment by 2025.
Likewise, UGI expanded its social impact with more than $2.8 million in community contributions and more than 32,000 employee volunteer hours, and bolstered corporate governance while earning “Customer Champion” recognition from Escalent for service excellence at UGI Utilities, according to its report.
Additionally, the report highlights UGI’s balanced approach to sustainable operations, which entails combining operational excellence with environmental stewardship and community investment to create long-term stakeholder value.
This approach prioritizes reliable, affordable energy delivery to customers across diverse markets, continued emissions reduction through infrastructure modernization, enhanced community partnerships, and industry-leading safety and governance practices, according to the report.
“As we move forward,” Flexon writes in the report, “we will remain focused on delivering positive energy in ways that balance environmental stewardship with economic prosperity and social well-being.”
