Radnor-based Triumph Group, a designer, manufacturer and repairer of aerospace and defense systems and components, and California-based Divergent Technologies, a developer of software-hardware production system for industrial digital manufacturing, recently partnered to bring certain technologies to market.
The partners will work to qualify multiple critical manned aircraft components manufactured with the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS). The components play a role in flight safety. Qualification will allow the companies to bring advanced digital manufacturing technologies into production for high-performance aerospace applications.
“The partnership with Divergent enables Triumph to meaningfully accelerate capabilities for our customers,” Pete Gibson, Triumph Geared Solutions president, said. “Developing additive manufacturing solutions to support new designs, active production programs and aftermarket, we are working together with velocity, to jointly validate and qualify key structural components through extensive test campaigns for aerospace applications, positioning both companies at the forefront of this manufacturing revolution.”
The parts will undergo rigorous testing and validation protocols. A regulatory authority will certify components for use on a high-performance aircraft.
Over the next two years, the partners estimate approximately 100 units will be delivered.
