Cranberry Township, Pa.-based MSA Safety, a safety products, technology and solutions company, recently held a grand opening ceremony for its Manufacturing Operations Center in Chelalate, Morocco.

“Expanding our operation in Morocco is part of our strategy to invest in regions where we’re seeing growth and a demand for our safety products,” Jose Sanchez, MSA Safety vice president of MissionOPS, said.

MSA Safety acquired CGF Gallet of France in 2002, expanding the company’s presence to Morocco.

The newly constructed facility will manufacture a variety of general personal protective equipment (PPE) product lines.

“By investing in a larger facility, we’re able to optimize our manufacturing footprint to better serve key markets in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, support our growth goals for the product lines that are currently manufactured there, and maintain a high level of customer service,” Sanchez said.

MSA Safety’s Morocco team won the John T. Ryan Sr. Award for Safety Excellence in 2021. The award honors one of the company’s co-founders and is presented annually to the manufacturing facility’s team that showed exemplarily dedication to the company’s mission and its culture of safety.

MSA Safety employs more than 5,000 at more than 40 international locations. It had revenue totaling $1.5 billion in 2022.
