The Business Intelligence Group (BIG), an annual business awards program recognizing organizations, products and people, recently awarded two Glen Mills-based Axalta Coating Systems’ products with the 2024 BIG Innovation Award.

The company manufactures industrial coatings used on building facades, commercial vehicles, light vehicles, refinish applications to electric motors, and other industrial applications. The coatings are designed to prevent corrosion, increase productivity, and enhance durability.

The products receiving recognition are the Voltatex 7345 A ECO Wire Enamel and the Raptor Flameproof Coating.

Voltatex 7345 A ECO Wire Enamel is for magnet wires. The Raptor Flameproof Coating contains heat resistant properties to extend the life of automotive parts.

“Axalta is proud to once again be recognized for innovations that demonstrate our commitment to our customers by creating smarter solutions for better living and a sustainable future,” Dr. Robert Roop, Axalta chief technology officer, said. “Electrification is driving unprecedented levels of research and development to improve the efficiency of electrical systems and supporting infrastructure. Our Voltatex 7345 A ECO Wire Enamel Technology helps address this growing trend.
