Belle Vernon-based Source One Transportation, a petroleum and alternative fuels delivery, logistics, and fuel distribution management provider, is offsetting its carbon emissions through the purchase of certified carbon offsets.
The Guttman Renewables carbon offset program, which leverages certified offset projects that result in greenhouse gas reductions or removals, made the purchase possible. The program is available to any company that wishes to take similar steps to offset emissions and work toward carbon neutrality.
The program will help Source One invest in scientifically backed, global initiatives that eliminate greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. It will offset all of its annual carbon dioxide emissions.
Environmental Social and Governance “and sustainability initiatives are becoming increasingly common among our customer base,” Brandon Roberts, Source One director of transportation operations, said. “Offsetting our emissions not only sets an example in the marketplace but also helps our customers reduce their Scope 3 indirect emissions.”
Source One Transportation has set the sustainability goal of reducing its environmental impact and building a culture of social responsibility.
Source One Transportation is the sustainable energy affiliate of Guttman Holdings Co. It provides services to carriers, commercial customers, convenience store operators, distributors, service stations, and refiners.
The company has a fleet of more than 40 transport trucks.
