Philadelphia-based Burns Medical will enter into a brand consolidation with its parent company Southland Industries, the companies announced Thursday.

The unified company will leverage Southland’s expertise and capabilities across its various regional businesses to provide superior value and greater services to clients and partners under one brand.

“It’s an exciting time for both our customers and employees as we complete the consolidation of our various brands to Southland Industries,” Ted Lynch, Ph.D., CEO of Southland Industries, said. “This consolidation better represents the way we actually do work today. An increasing amount of our work is with clients that operate in multiple geographic regions, so this should remove any potential confusion for them and make it easier for them to engage us and access our vast companywide resources and capabilities.”

The company said Dan Kerr will continue to lead Southland as the Philadelphia Division Leader service clients in Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

“We are excited to move forward as Southland Industries and for all of the opportunities this brand consolidation provides for our people, clients, and partners,” Kerr said.

The announcement signifies the completion of Southland’s plan to consolidate all of its brands by January 2023.

Southland was founded in 1949 in Dulles, Va., as a local heating and cooling company and has since grown into a national MEP leader offering full lifecycle solutions for companies from design through building maintenance.
