The Pennsylvania Office of the Budget recently awarded Steelite International a $3.5 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant for the company’s expansion.
RACP funds regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
“Steelite International has been a major part of Lawrence County’s economic landscape for years and for whom I’ve worked with my colleagues during that time to secure funding to allow for their continued expansion,” state Sen. Elder Vogel (R-Lawrence County) said. “This new grant affords them the opportunity for more growth that will have a positive impact on our region.”
Steelite will erect a 55,000-square-foot, pre-engineered steel building in Neshannock Township. The company will use the grant to develop the site, purchase the building, and for the installation of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
The company will use the additional space to store and distribute its increased product line and to meet customer demand.
The original facility was built in 2007. A warehouse addition was added in 2019.
“In addition to this grant funding, Steelite’s significant investment will help ensure that business continues to grow in Lawrence County,” state Sen. Michele Brooks (R- Crawford/Mercer) said.
Steelite manufactures and supplies tabletop products for the hospitality industry.
