Architectural sign company expanding in Lawrence County

Bunting, Inc., an architectural signage products and services company, recently announced the purchase of a 333,980-square-foot manufacturing facility on 24.3 acres in New Castle that will be used as an aluminum extrusion mill.

The expansion will allow the company to enter the aluminum extrusion market, creating at least 79 jobs in Lawrence County, and produce goods for the building, construction, automotive, and transportation sectors. Bunting will invest more than $16.8 million into the project over the next four years.

“We are excited to have Lawrence County become the home of our new aluminum extrusion facility,” Josh Bunting, Bunting Architectural Metals president, said. “Working with the commonwealth, the county, and the township has shown us that the commonwealth and the county are welcoming to new business.”

The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a proposal for a $152,000 workforce development grant to help train workers, a $316,000 Pennsylvania First grant, and a $2.1 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan.

The department also encouraged Bunting to apply for the Manufacturing Tax Credit program.

The Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals, coordinated the project.

Bunting began in the Pittsburgh area in 1869 and originally manufactured rubber stamps, tags, and nameplates.
