AGC Chemicals Americas (AGCCA) recently announced the production facility in Thorndale will expand its office and manufacturing space and quality control lab by up to 50 percent.

The expansion will help the company meet the needs of current customers and accommodate future production increases and capabilities.

AGCCA manufactures, markets, and sells fluoroproducts, specialty chemicals, and specialty materials.

The facility produces fluoropolymer resins and has a large presence in the transportation, aerospace, energy, industrial, semiconductor, and coatings markets.

“Local government supports this expansion because it will utilize regional and local construction resources,” Michael Lim, AGCCA senior director of manufacturing technology and operations, said. “This expanded presence demonstrates our continued investment in the local community.”

Construction began last month and is expected to be completed in July 2023.

AGC Chemicals Americas is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AGC, a $14.1 billion global manufacturer of glass, electronic displays, and chemical products. AGCCA and AGC Japan’s Global Compounds business unit are headquartered in Exton. The site includes a state-of-the-art technology center.

AGCCA has multiple warehouses throughout North America in addition to the Thorndale manufacturing facility. It was established in 2004 after the merger of sister companies Asahi Glass Fluoropolymers and AGA Chemicals.
