GIANT opening three Philadelphia stores in December

The GIANT Co. recently announced the opening dates for its three Philadelphia stores opening in December.

“The City of Philadelphia and the surrounding community continues to play a central role in our growth strategy, bringing customers fresh meal solutions both in-store and online,” Manuel Haro, GIANT divisional vice president of greater Philadelphia, said. “We are excited to debut three new stores for our customers just in time for the holiday shopping season and look forward to providing time-saving conveniences to help families spend more time together around the table.”

The Columbus Boulevard location will open on Dec. 3. The 46,000-square-foot store employs approximately 150 full- and part-time workers.

The Doylestown Swamp Road location opens on Dec. 10. The 72,500-square-foot store replaces an existing one that is scheduled to close on Dec. 9. It employs approximately 225 full- and part-time workers.

The Market Street location opens on Dec. 16. The 32,000-square-foot store employs approximately 100 full- and part-time workers.

The new stores will offer GIANT Direct, allowing customers to order groceries online for either pick-up or delivery.

This month, GIANT opened its e-commerce fulfillment center located on Island Avenue and its Cottman Avenue store.

The company has nearly 190 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
