Range Resources publishes updated Corporate Sustainability Report

On Wednesday, Range Resources said it had published an updated Corporate Sustainability Report providing detailed insight into Range’s approach, achievements, and goals on environmental, social and governance topics.

The 2020-2021 Corporate Sustainability Report covers a number of topics including emissions reduction goals and performance, corporate governance, safety leadership, environmental stewardship, community impact and human capital, with an emphasis on material subjects for the business and key stakeholders.

“Now more than ever, natural gas is powering our lives and providing our world with clean and reliable energy, as well as feedstock for a vast number of daily products,” said Jeff Ventura, Range’s CEO. “Range’s natural gas is part of the global solution to improving quality of life, and we understand that as an industry leader, we must continue to operate in a responsible and transparent manner. This includes providing our stakeholders, business partners, and communities with the information we disclose in our Corporate Sustainability Report.”

The report said the company is continuing to advance toward its short-term, medium-term and long-term goals, specifically related to its strategic goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2025.

The report also said the company achieved a 69 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity and an 86 percent reduction in methane emissions intensity when compared to the 2017 baseline. The company also increased the frequency of LDAR surveys from semi-annual to quarterly, which resulted in a decrease in the reported equipment leak emissions by more than 66 percent. The report said the company also recycled 148 percent of produced water and flowback volume through a water sharing program. The company also expanded emissions measurement by entering into a pilot program with Project Canary, the report said.
