U.S. Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) said the Fiscal Year 2022 Budget recently advanced by the House Appropriations Committee includes 10 projects totaling more than $7 million in the 4th congressional district.

The inclusion of the projects in the budget is the first step in the funding process, she said. As the bill moves to the House Floor and negotiations with the Senate, Dean said she would continue to fight for the projects.

“I am delighted to have these projects included in our annual budget,” Dean said. “This process was an opportunity for our office to advocate for funding for community-based projects that address our district’s most pressing needs.”

Included in the appropriations are:

  • $3 million for high priority needs projects at the Montgomery County Housing Authority,
  • $1.35 million for Boyertown Yard Downtown Improvements for the Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust.
  • $460,000 for the Memorial Park ADA/Accessible Upgrade Project by the Borough of Hatboro,
  • $450,000 for the Support Our Own Project through the Pottstown’s TriCounty Community Network,
  • $400,000 for the “The Choice is Yours” Program by JEVS Human Services,
  • $332,000 for the Schuylkill River Trail — Norristown Transportation Center by SEPTA,
$300,000 for a New Early Learning Center at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA,
$270,000 for the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Education Program (PREP) at the Hedwig House,
  • $250,000 for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Care at Holy Redeemer Health,
  • and $200,000 for the Library Transformation Project at Norristown Area High School.
