Casino set to open in York Aug. 12

According to Penn National Gaming, Hollywood Casino York in Springettsbury Township is set to open to the public on Aug. 12, pending final customary regulatory approvals.

“The countdown to our grand opening begins today,” Ruben Warren, Hollywood Casino York vice president and general manager, said. “We’re very excited to soon welcome patrons to this beautiful new property, where they’ll be able to experience premier gaming, dining, and entertainment.”

The approximately 80,000-square-foot Category 4 casino is Penn National’s third facility in Pennsylvania. It will feature approximately 500 slot machines and 24 table games with the option to expand to up to 750 slot machines and 40 table games.

Restaurants include the Classic Grill grab-and-go eatery and Diner & Drinks, a casual restaurant and bar.

Hollywood Casino York will also offer race book and a Barstool Sportsbook. Penn National entered into a partnership with Barstool Sports last year. Under the terms of the agreement, Barstool promotes Penn National’s land-based and online casinos and sports betting products to its national audience.

Two invitation-only test days will be held before the grand opening. All proceeds will be donated to charitable organizations in the area.

Penn National’s fourth casino will open in Morgantown later this year.
