Harsco releases environmental report

Camp Hill-based Harsco Corp., an industrial and specialty waste streams solutions provider, recently released an Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Report highlighting its corporate sustainability accomplishments throughout fiscal year 2020.

The report details the company’s ESG vision, strategy, values, code of conduct, and governance structure.

“Our corporate vision to be a global leader of environmental solutions is fully intertwined with our ambition to be an ESG leader in the industry and is critical to successfully executing our ongoing growth strategy,” Nick Grasberger, Harsco chairman and CEO, said. “Our clear vision of sustainable environmental solutions gives purpose to Harsco’s present and defines our future.”

Report highlights include Harsco recycling or repurposing more than 75 percent of waste and byproduct material annually, 94 percent of which in its Clean Earth division; the Clean Earth and Harsco Environmental divisions launched 29 new environmental solutions, a nearly 32 percent increase; and 82 percent of annual company revenue is derived from environmental solutions, a 62 percent increase from three years ago.

The report also highlights focus areas and goals, including reducing the energy and carbon intensity of the company’s operations by 15 percent by 2025; and recycling and repurposing more than 25 million tons of carbon emissions from 2019 to 2025.
