Pharmaceutical manufacturing facility opening in York County

250 Cross Farm Lane (CFL), a PSC Biotech Corp subsidiary, plans to open a contract pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in York County.

The company plans to invest more than $22 million to transfer equipment, staff, and customers from its current Wisconsin site to Pennsylvania. After the move, the company will change its name to BioTechnique.

CFL purchased a 160,000-square-foot pharmaceutical manufacturing facility formerly occupied by Unilife in Conewago Township and will update the building, purchase new equipment, and train employees.

The move is expected to create 100 jobs for the region.

CFL manufactures sterile injectable drugs and provides development services for U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration controlled substances, hormonal therapies, vaccines, and next generation cancer therapies.

The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a proposal for a $2 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan, a $500,000 Pennsylvania First grant, and a $200,000 workforce development grant to help the company train workers.

It also encouraged CFL to apply for the department’s Manufacturing Tax Credit program.

“We are grateful for the support from the York County Economic Alliance, the Governor’s Action Team, and Gov. Wolf for their generous support to enable BioTechnique to relocate from Wisconsin to Pennsylvania,” John Clapham, PSC Biotech CEO and BioTechnique general manager, said.
