F.N.B. Corp., the holding company for First National Bank of Pennsylvania, recently entered into a joint venture with the Buccini/Pollin Group, a real estate management company, and Pittsburgh Arena Real Estate Development, the development arm of the Pittsburgh Penguins, to develop an office tower in Pittsburgh.

F.N.B. plans to invest $220 million into the 26-story, 547,888-square-foot building and has pledged to achieve more than 45 percent Minority/Woman-Owned Business Enterprise participation in the project.

FNB Financial Center will be located on the former Civic Arena site and will include two floors of parking, 20,000-square-feet of retail space on the first floor, and 471,890-square-feet of Class A office space.

The project is expected to create 160 new, high-paying jobs, and FNB will consolidate its headquarters staff to the tower.

“The FNB Financial Center project launches one of the largest urban development initiatives in the nation and is a catalyst to drive continued growth, innovation, and efficiency for our organization and success for our region,” said Vincent. J. Delie, Jr., F.N.B. Corp. and First National Bank of Pennsylvania chairman, president and CEO.

The building is expected to open in 2023.

Technologies that reduce the spread of viruses and airborne pathogens will be incorporated into the design.
