Six Pennsylvania business among Comcast Corp. award recipients

Comcast Corp. recently announced its first round of Comcast RISE award, which included more than 700 recipients include six businesses in Central Pennsylvania.

Winners receive either technology upgrades from Comcast Business, based on the specific needs, or consulting, media, and creative production services from Effectv, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable.

Pennsylvania’s recipients are She Does Hauling in Harrisburg, H2O Enterprises d/b/a S.M.A.R.T. Preschool in Harrisburg, Mellie Bellies in Harrisburg, Champion Law Office in Carlisle, Shirlair’s Boutique and Professional Business Academy in Reading, and Aligned For Life Chiropractic in Gap.

This phase of awards focused on small businesses, black-owned businesses, and businesses hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We created Comcast RISE to partner with small businesses and give them access to tools to help them survive the pandemic and thrive,” Teresa Ward-Maupin, Digital and Customer Experience at Comcast Business senior vice president, said. “As we’ve gone through the selection process, it’s been so powerful to hear these business owners’ stories and see the tangible ways that we can help grow their businesses and impact their communities. I could not be more pleased to open this program to the entire (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community and continue this positive momentum.”
