PECO, Pennsylvania’s largest electric and natural gas utility, and the Exelon Foundation recently committed to donating additional funds to local nonprofit organizations that are assisting residents impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

This will bring the total donations to $1.1 million across the Greater Philadelphia region.

The donations will be given to United Way of Berks County, United Way of Bucks County, United Way of Chester County, United Way of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey, the Foundation for Delaware County, and Montgomery County Foundation.

“We remain committed to supporting our customers and communities in their time of need. Through this donation, we hope to assist Pennsylvania nonprofits and relief organizations in providing much needed resources to address the hardships felt across our state,” Mike Innocenzo, PECO president and CEO, said. “We will continue to work with Gov. (Tom) Wolf, Philadelphia Mayor (Jim) Kenney, as well as all our state and municipal leaders to ensure we are powering the essential services southeastern Pennsylvania needs during this critical time.”

The Exelon Foundation, Exelon Corp., and its family of companies have pledged to donate more than $5.7 million to national and local nonprofits providing relief during the pandemic. More than $1 million has been committed to Pennsylvania.
