Fuling Global Inc., a global manufacturer and distributor of disposable plastic and paper foodservice products with U.S. headquarters in Allentown, Pa., announced Tuesday that it launched production at its newest manufacturing facility, located in Semarang City, Central Java, Indonesia.

The new facility is the company’s third manufacturing plant outside of China. It established its first manufacturing facility outside of China in 2014 in Allentown and opened its second manufacturing facility outside of China in Monterrey, Mexico, in 2019. The company also has four distribution centers in North America, including one in Allentown.

“Completion of our factory in Indonesia represents an important milestone in Fuling Global’s strategy to become a global supplier of foodservice disposable products, offering innovative research and development and high-quality products, with international sourcing capability,” Xinfu Hu, CEO of Fuling Global Inc., said. “It is also by far our largest production plant outside of China and will enable us to provide our international clients with a comprehensive line of products.”

The company plans to install 64 production lines of manufacturing equipment at the new, nearly 194,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in two phases during 2020. When both phases are fully operational, the company expects to have approximately 500 employees at the facility and achieve annual production of roughly $60 million, assuming sufficient customer orders.
